ART TEACHING
Sharing my art practice through teaching is one of the most rewarding aspects of my artistic career. As an Arts educator I’ve taught, led, and designed and tailored workshops for over ten years for children, the disability sector, the elderly in Australia and even taught English through creative theatrical expression in all around Germany when i was living in Berlin.

DISABILITY TEACHING
Hatch - Artist Mentor

Sunnyfield Disabilities Centre Blacktown 2017

Working with a very diverse group of 15-20 participants with high-end needs from 18 – 65 every Wednesday for 5 hours over 6 weeks. During this time we workshopped together an installation piece based on an exhibition at MCA we visited. We unpacked the theme of renewal from the Kader Attia exhibition, participants then used a variety of materials: cellophane, tape, sound recordings and lights to create the installation.

TEACHING THE ELDERLY

Lead Artist – Abel Tasman, aged care facility.
2019

Designed and delivered a very successful 3 hour Art program for a Dementia Aged Care facility in Sydney. Participants created free standing sculptures from wire and discarded clothing and fabrics. And just like all good creative practices, you’ve got to embrace opportunity and the proposed workshop quite organically transformed into an impromptu hat fashion run way shoot after the sculptures were made. I absolutely love these images!

TEACHING KIDS
I’ve taught a range of creative art workshops in painting and sculpture to kids aged 5-14 in Sydney for both afternoon during in the school term and school holiday programs, always rewarding and always funny because.
